Do you ever feel this post-holiday let-down too? I was okay for the first few weeks, just recovering and enjoying the free time. But now, I feel like there's not a lot to look forward to. Each evening when I get home seems monotonous (even though it's really not, it just feels like it).
BTW: Don't you like my creative shots of me feeling blah? :)
So it's time to combat this evil. Here's my two-minute brainstorm on what I am going to do to fix it. What are YOU doing to fix your blahs?
* Push myself to work out and get outside when possible. This always, always helps me, and with the upcoming spring weather, the fresh air will do a body good. Hopefully.
* Go somewhere on weeknights. It won't be somewhere that necessarily costs anything, but maybe hitting up a local park, taking a walk around the neighborhood, or meeting up with a friend at their apartment to hang out.
* Take this time to do things I don't usually have time for - like reading a book (see Resolution #4) or doing something artsy-craftsy in the condo.
* Call my friends more often. I am a phone-talker. Some of my favorite friends aren't, but whatever, they put up with me :)
* Wear bright colors. I've gotta remember to put some hot pinks and sunny yellows in rotation to pop amidst this winter dreariness.
or you could get pumped for those peeps w/ Feb birthdays! :-) well, thinking about it - bdays aren't as cool after 21 :-p
ReplyDeleteWHO of your friends don't like to talk on the phone?!
ReplyDeleteYou're going to love February then...
ReplyDeleteDeb, you are so right, there are a lot of bdays coming up, yay!
ReplyDeleteAnd Sarah - that comment was JUST for you, chica ;) Thanks for always chatting w me when I need to chat hahaha!
I came up with a home improvement project that has taken a TON of time (re-finishing a big built in cabinet), and signed up for personal training classes for a great deal back in NOV, and they're still going on too!...but then again, I LOVE the downtime :-)
ReplyDeleteI've been enjoying the downtime but have been getting bored as well. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteI love having little things to look forward to, so one of my favorite things to do is make plans to go over to a friend's condo or have them over to mine. Its a great inexpensive way to have plans!
Bella - that is a great idea! I have some things around the condo that have needed tending-to anyways haha. And Bhead Belle, you are so right. It doesn't have to be a big get-together, why not just a glass of wine at a friends? :)
