My other life

If I had all the time in the world, I would throw all the parties I could. Well, if I had all the time, AND all the money. I could be an event planner on the side for the rich and famous and throw parties with huge budgets. And provide open bars, glam decor, awesome music. With give-aways. And party swag. And insane food.

Ok, well I am not this person. But in the meantime, I try to throw some fun parties with what budget I DO have, and make sure my friends all have a great time.

Side note - I am already planning the Sex and the City II Party in my head - ladies, expect a Save the Date in the next few months ;)

But in the short term, I am planning another Movie Night at my building. We are lucky enough to have this cool theater that we can use with our friends, and it holds about 30 people. Last time I threw a Movie Night, I had everyone bring something to share pot-luck style (my favorite budget move for huge get-togethers) and provided some beer, wine and some red velvet cake balls (thanks Bakerella!) for the crowd. I polled people on Twitter beforehand about what movie to show - we landed on My Best Friends Girl, which turned out to be hilarious for the group.

This time, I'd like to make it more of a girls night, and hopefully can have over the larger PR Girls Night group, plus all of my Georgia Tech and high school gal pals. What movie should I pick? What's your favorite go-to chick flick?

No worries - Meg and I will bring the box o wine again. We know it was the biggest hit of the party last time (well, other than your red velvet cake balls, that is). :)

Hello! Just discovered your blog through 20sb :)

My name is Valerie and I am working as an intern for a website named HerFuture.com and basically it's a wonderful tool to create connections and mentoring relationships with other likeminded women. It's just very inspiring and I met amazing people there! I think you might be interested in checking it out. There are many groups called Power Posses for all type of subjects including health, career opportunities, self growth …etc. Members share their goals and desires, and are encouraged to reach out for advice. It is really a wonderful place and there is such a great positive energy out there. It’s so regenerative!

If you have any questions about it, I'd be more than happy to answer it :)

Anyway, I'm on the website if you decide to create a profile, so don't hesitate to add me and I could introduce you to some other people depending on what you’re looking for.
