Spring is in the Air!

You know it's springtime in Atlanta when everything takes on an ugly yellow pollen-hue. Cars, benches, buildings -- nothing is safe. For a lot of us, this great season also means serious allergy time. So far for me (knock on wood!), I have avoided the typical sinus infection, but I have definitely seen a lag in my energy levels, and today I have a nice headache behind my eyes FTW from that yellow dust.

On the other hand, though, I think this is hands-down the best time of year to live in Atlanta. I love love love the Fall, but here in A-town, it's a finnicky season -- you never know if you are going to have a random October day at 80 degrees with 95% humidity. Ick! Springtime, other than the pollen, has the perfect blend of low humidity, warm sunshine, and cool breezes. It comes early, too, just when we are at our wits-end with winter coats. Too bad it only lasts like 3 weeks and then we will be into official Summer here :P

You can't help but want to be outside during weather like this, or at least wanting to get out after work to enjoy these longer daylight hours. I will be enjoying another springtime evening outdoors tonight at Cypress Street Pint and Plate with a friend, and am pumped to hang on their patio. Tomorrow, I am attending two other events that I wanted to share with you since they sounded so neat. They may not be outdoors, but they definitely are something to look forward to for your own spring evening!

1. Blissful Blogette Party with CRAVE Atlanta: I am excited to meet some of Atlanta's top ladies in business and the blogosphere at RA Sushi in Midtown. Mental note to self: I really need to get some blog calling cards made up!

This event is full-up, so I am mostly posting it to see if any of you will be attending too? Then I can keep an eye out for you! For all the rest of you, CRAVE has a cool blog that you can check into, and I will post all about the event here later!

2. CCFA Happy Hour: After I hit up the CRAVE party, I am walking down the street to Sutra Lounge on Crescent Ave. for a Happy Hour event benefiting the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. My friend Sarah works at CCFA and is helping put on this fun night -- $10 donation at the door gets you two drink tickets and food. Sutra is a blast of a club and always have great music playing and fab drinks flowing.

If you know anyone with Crohn's or Colitis, you know they are difficult conditions to live with, so go CCFA for helping raise funds for research and a cure someday! If you are free tomorrow night, maybe we will see you there!
