I'm on a Boat!

Today is a happy day for me. Our cruise is now officially 100 days away. I am so excited, I can barely stand it!

These next 100 days are going to be tough to get through, but it will be worth it for the 7 fabulous days on the high seas awaiting us at the end. We are heading to the Eastern Caribbean, stopping in Nassau, St. Maarten, and St. Thomas along the way. I haven't even begun to think about what we are going to do in each port, though I would imagine things like snorkeling, sunbathing, and perhaps drinking a frozen drink or two might top the list.

This has got me thinking though about the clothes I will need to pack! Yes, I know this is ridiculous to be thinking about 100 days out. But right now, there are a lot of semi-annual and summer sales going on, and so it's actually the perfect time to grab any vacation clothes you might need for the hot months ahead!

First up, I really need a new bathing suit or two. While the men can get away with rotating the same one or two swim trunks, us gals (or is it just me? lol) prefer to have maybe 3 or 4 for the whole week. While in college, I brought an amazing 7 suits with me on a week-long cruise. But they were all Target suits, and as thus, many have fallen into disrepair since. Three to four higher quality suits will fit the bill perfectly.

Victoria's Secret is a perfect spot to hunt for good bargains. This is the one I have set my eye on, which is on sale for a remarkable $9.99 per piece, and comes in a variety of prints.

Can I get that body to go, too? Thanks, VS.

The other things I am thinking about are easy resort-wear cotton dresses and mix-and-match accessories. For a week-long trip, it's important to pack things that can multi-task. These breezy dresses can take you off the ship by day with a pair of pretty sandals, and then can be dressed up for evening with a pair of wedges and some funky jewelry. VS has a lot of options, as does Old Navy, Target, along with LOFT and Kohl's.

I'm just starting to think about this, so here are some of my first inspirational pieces ...

Are you headed to the beach this summer? What are you taking in your bag that can multitask?
