Top Ten {Tuesday}: Fall Bucket List

Wow, it has been a while since my last Top Ten {Tuesday}, and I have really missed them! I am a list-fan, so you better believe that having the opportunity to organize my post into list-format is always a special treat for me.

Today, I am sticking with a theme that has popped up all over the blogosphere -- FALL! I am putting together my dream list of all the things I'd love to do one Fall, someday when I have limitless funds (some of these are cheap/free though, mind you) and limitless time (aka how do I fit these things in on the weekends with Georgia Tech football home games? Ack!). Photo credit here

Top Ten {Tuesday}: My Fall Bucket List
Some can be easily accomplished, others not so much ...

1. Going to New York City -- my favorite city in the world (so what if I haven't seen them all? NYC would still rank as #1, I am 95% sure of it). Fall leaves in Central Park. Crisp mornings at a sidewalk cafe with coffee. Bundling up to walk through Little Italy for cannoli. DIES. I'd like to do a mid-October jaunt to NYC every. single. year.

2. Heading out on a hayride to a pumpkin patch -- this one waxes childhood nostalgic all the way. So much, in fact, that when I read that the Buckhead "Buc" shuttle was taking schoolkids up to a nearby farm for it, I half (ok fully) wondered if random adults could tag along, too.

3. State/County Fair -- My mental image of this one is Never Been Kissed on the top of the ferris wheel meets Big and the games on the boardwalk. Never mind that Georgia State Fairs typically include things a lot more redneck than that. I still want to go to one ASAP!

4. Corn maze -- This one is on the agenda again (TBD) because it was a lot of fun last year. This year, I promised my brother we'd go on a night when it was actually cold though, because being drenched in sweat in a corn maze wasn't all that thrilling. Our pick: Cagle's in Canton.

5. Apple picking -- Another childhood fav. We grew up in Richmond, so the Blue Ridge Mountains were right there for us to do this. I wish oh I wish I could fit this one in this year, too. I hear there are a few up in Ellijay not too far from town. Apple hand pies and fresh cider, oh my.

6. Saturday AM walks in the park admiring the changing colors -- This one I can do! And it's free! Success!

7. Making wreaths and decor from fall leaves and other items -- To indulge my inner Southern Living diva (photo credit) this one might require living somewhere a bit closer to actual trees than Buckhead....

8. Raking leaves -- Again, the current high-rise situation is a bit limiting. Not that I'd want to do this ALL the time, anyways. Once would be enough :) Does anyone need a friend to help rake their lawns this Fall? I accept payments in Pumpkin Beer. And speaking of beer ...

9. Brewery tours in the open air -- ABC and Sweetwater at this time of year are BEAUTIFUL. We are going on Halloween weekend.

10. Carving pumpkins -- I don't care that we have no outdoor space to display them other than our porch all those floors up. We are carving pumpkins because it's a bit of a tradition going way back to our early dating days :)

What is YOUR addition to the Fall Bucket List?

We have a BIG yard with LOTs of leaves on Bubbling Creek. I'm all for getting some yard work help! I'll let you know when we need to start raking:)

Great list, totally agree on all points! Also, what better way to see NYC in the fall (or anytime of the year) than with a native? Sneak away with me the first weekend in November, and we'll also get to cheer people on at the ING NYC Marathon which finishes in Central Park (huge city fall tradition there), plus my sister's running it so it'll be extra fun ;)

C'mon....you know you want to! :)

Love this list! I was JUST talking about taking a little day trip to Blue Ridge and doing some apple picking :) I have the same problem, living in a condo, so no raking or pumpkins for me :( I might carve one just because....

We did Apple picking in Ellijay at BJ Reece - it was awesome and we ate the apples (and apple pie) for a good couple of weeks.

I also love getting pumpkins at a patch - we've done Berry Patch and Pettite Creek Farms.

LOVE that fall leaf picture you started with...

you know what else needs to be on the list? Having a pumpkin spice latte or pumpkin scone at a coffee shop! (When cool out of course)

Kelly - those places look so cute! I am putting them on the top of my list for if/when I make it out to pick apples and pumpkins :) And I totally JUST had that pumpkin spice latte this afternoon, despite this odd heat here haha ;)
