Fav Atlanta Places: Piedmont Park

Beautiful, sunny days like today make me think of leisurely strolls outside, enjoying the warmth of the sun on a crisp Fall day. If I was in New York City, I would totally grab lunch to enjoy in Central Park on a day like today. Or in Chicago, I'd go out on that park along the lake, how perfect. But, I am in downtown Atlanta, and a bit too far from one of my favorites, Piedmont Park, to run over there for lunch, sadly!

There is nothing better in my mind in Atlanta than spending a lazy Saturday or Sunday afternoon at the park, throwing around a frisbee or a football, grabbing a beer at Park Tavern on the patio, and finding the quiet swings where you can sit by the lake.

One thing to check out on my list at the Park is the Saturday morning Green Market from 9am - 1pm. We strolled by one morning recently just as the shops were shutting down, and it looked like they had a great assortment of fall goods like apples, gourds, and root vegetables, plus flowers, foods, and artist market fare. It runs through Dec. 12, so hopefully I can make a stop over there before then!

They teach argentine tango in the park on the weekends of the green market too!
