Walk the Catwalk

Last weekend was almost as busy as this upcoming graduation-mania weekend will be for me -- I was out a few nights and days in a row at all sorts of fun events. It is fun to know fun people in the right places :)

One event I hadn't told you about yet was the big Simon Fashion Now show at Lenox! When I arrived, I was amazed at my reserved seat ...

WOW. Can't say I have ever sat this close to anything before in my life! Thanks Simon!

Sitting right there provided the fabulous opportunity to get lots of up-close shots of the looks sported by the (cough cough very attractive cough) models, male and female alike. Note the flat screens in each picture, listing where that look is from.

I love this look, with the shiny leggings and a white blazer over the retro 80's tank...

And nothing like rocking the little white suit but with shorts instead! Check out those killer heels.

Actually, Simon did a great job putting all the models in fantastic shoes. Like these boat shoes on some of the men.

I loved this guy's zip up cardigan with the leather elbows.

Plus, he was attractive and smiled right at me [swoon!!]

I have heard people either like or dislike the flip flops with jeans thing but this guy pulled it off to a 10. So very islandy, Tommy Bahamas.

Even Belk got in the game with a flashy orange shift dress perfect for summer or even early Fall with a cardigan.

Besides the fact that this model was like a size negative 4, I loved her outfit with that hot sparkly mini tamed down with a cropped jean jacket. Perfect for a steamy summer night on the town.

The hostess for the show was Bobbie Thomas, who looked absolutely adorable in her poofy skirt and white blazer. Loved her shoes too!

Bobbie had a few tips to share with the audience about picking the right colors for you based on the coloring of your veins on your wrists. I don't remember all the details, but if you have blueish veins, you look better in brighter, bolder colors, and if you have greenish veins, you pull off the deeper, coral or Fall type hues. But, she said that everyone can pull of all colors, just in the right amounts or a certain size of the item. Check out some of her other tips on fashion ideas for summer.

All in all, it was a fantastic show, and I got a lot of great ideas for how to combine different types of fabrics, colors, and styles into one flawless look. The ones above are just a sample. So I will leave you with a video of the first part of the show, featuring clothes from Phipps Plaza -- imagine me grinning ear to ear behind the camera, because I was, ha! It was so exciting to be so close to the action!! :D
